In buildings with many small rooms, such as hotels, hostels and serviced offices, where one ceiling access point in the corridor cannot reach through every wall. Each room gets its own access point and wired ports.
Do wall-plate access points need a network cable?
Yes. Each one connects to a network cable in the wall and is powered over that cable by a PoE switch, so plan the cabling with the access points.
