Hikvision NVR recorders: 32 and 64 channels compared
We list 7 Hikvision network video recorders. The model code tells you the two things that matter: the camera channels (the last two digits of the number, 32 or 64) and the hard drive bays (the number after the letter, 4 to 16). More bays means longer recording or RAID protection.

Questions buyers ask
How many cameras can a Hikvision NVR record?
As many as its channels: the last two digits of the model number. A DS-7732NI records up to 32 IP cameras, a DS-9664NI up to 64.
What do I4, I8 and I16 mean on a Hikvision NVR?
The number is how many hard drives the recorder holds. Four drives suit most 32-camera sites; 8 or 16 drives give longer recording time and room for RAID, so a failed drive does not lose footage.
What is the difference between the 7700 and 9600 series?
In our range the 7700 series models hold 4 drives and the 9600 series hold 8 or 16. Choose the 9600 when you need long retention or RAID.
Is installation included?
The recorders are quoted on their own. Installation, cabling and camera setup are done by Ryzen eSolutions, our sister company, and quoted together if you need them.
